Photos: Northern Lights glow across skies in the U.S. and across the world

The aurora borealis, or Northern Lights, has been visible across the United States and globally due to intense geomagnetic conditions. These conditions, rated at a G4 level, are the second-highest on NOAA's five-step scale, making magnetic conditions eight times stronger than normal. This remarkable display is caused by Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) from the Sun, which send charged particles towards Earth. These events have allowed the Northern Lights to be seen unusually far south, with sightings reported in states like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and north Florida, as well as in various international locations including England, China, and Germany.
