Emergency services responded to a serious two-car collision on Stonebridge Lane in Liverpool on Christmas Eve, around 8:40 pm. The crash involved a grey car and a Ford Puma.
Four individuals were transported to the hospital: the male driver of the grey car, who sustained serious injuries, and the male driver of the Ford Puma, a female front-seat passenger, and an eight-year-old boy. While the driver of the grey car's condition is serious, the injuries to the other three are not believed to be life-threatening.
Fire crews performed a roof removal to extricate one of the trapped individuals, with another casualty being assisted off a longboard. The East Lancashire Road was temporarily closed to facilitate the emergency response and subsequent investigation, which includes forensic examinations.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
