Asda is opening nine new Express convenience stores within the next 10 days to expand its reach in urban areas, residential neighborhoods, and transport hubs. Seven of these new locations are in London, including Tower Bridge, Greenwich, Limehouse Station, Harringay, Deptford, Whetstone, and a former Arsenal FC club shop at Finsbury Park station. Two additional stores will open in Botley, Southampton, and Stoke.
These new Asda Express stores will each stock over 3,000 branded and own-label products. They will also offer amenities such as Costa Coffee machines, ATMs, Amazon parcel collection and return services, and on-demand delivery through Uber Eats, Just Eat, and Deliveroo. A key feature across all new stores will be the implementation of electronic shelf edge labels (ESLs), which will display product pricing, weight, unit price, and allergen information via QR codes.
