Sony has officially revealed Horizon Steel Frontiers, a new MMORPG developed in partnership with NCSoft and Guerrilla Games. The game centers around large-scale boss fights against robotic creatures, similar to the Monster Hunter series. Players will create their own characters from one of four tribes—Nora, Tenakth, Utaru, or Oseram—and team up to take down machines in the Deadlands, a region inspired by the American Southwest.
Horizon Steel Frontiers will feature both ground and aerial mounts for exploration and combat. Gameplay footage suggests a combat system where players target enemy weak points and can utilize traps and grappling hooks. The game is being built specifically for mobile devices and PC, and will not be released on PlayStation 5.
