Nikita Hughes, a new mother, died at the age of 23 after being misdiagnosed with a breast abscess. Weeks after giving birth to her daughter Vienna, Hughes visited a doctor for a lump on her breast and was prescribed antibiotics. When the lump did not resolve, she was sent for a scan at a breast clinic, where she received the devastating diagnosis of an aggressive form of cancer. Hughes, who had always dreamed of becoming a mother, was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of soft tissue sarcoma.
